Sports Foundation Continues to Raise Funds for Timberwolf Stadium

24 January 2008

The Mendocino Coast Sports Foundation continues in its quest to improve and finish Timberwolf Stadium by raising awareness through various fundraisers. The latest fundraiser will be the annual crab feed which is done jointly with the Fort Bragg Rotary Club. The crab feed will be held Jan 26 at the Fort Bragg Firehouse from 2:00PM to 7:00PM. Tickets for the crab feed can be purchased from Harvest Market; The Mendocino Chamber Office; Pyorre Insurance Agency or any local Rotarians. Cost of the tickets are $40 for adults and children 10 and under are free with an adult ticket purchase.

After the crab feed the next fundraiser will be the annual dinner auction and will be at Silver's at the Wharf on March 6. Tickets for this event are limited to 150 so if you are interested in going please call 964-6331 and place a reservation. In addition the foundation is looking for unique items that can be donated for the auction portion of the dinner. There will be both a live and a silent auction as in years past. If you have an item you would like to donate please call 964-6331.

On March 15 the Sports Foundation will once again be working with the Fort Bragg Rotary Club by providing a food booth at the beer tasting at the Eagles Hall.

The Sports Foundation also still has seat sponsorship available at $150 per seat but this sponsorship will be going up due to the rising costs of construction materials. If you were thinking about putting yours or someone else's name on a seat now is the time to do it. For businesses there are also billboards that can be placed around the stadium at a cost of $3,000 for a ten year time span. These billboard costs may also be going up so now would be a good time to lock in your ten year term before any increase.

All of the above fundraisers are for the improvement and hopeful completion of Timberwolf Stadium. The next scheduled improvement will be a permanent front entrance gate, fence and sign. Yet to be completed and awaiting funds is the concrete base for the remainder on the home side seating; the remaining railing and fencing; the second restroom on visitors side; the north pathway from the home side to the visitors side; the all-weather track and the landscaping. As you can see there is still a lot to be done but much has already been accomplished with the help of our generous community. If you would like to contribute you can mail you contribution to the Mendocino Coast Sport Foundation P O Box 2812 Fort Bragg or if you would like more information please call 964-6331.
