MCSF Elects New Board

The Mendocino Coast Sports Foundation held its annual election of board members on June 25. Board members elected for another 2 year term were: Steve Beeman; Chris Brians; Fred Giusti; Janice Luoma and Rick McMillen. Toby Brazill who has been a board member since 1997 declined another term but pledged to continue helping the foundation in any way she can. Secretary John Andersen presented Toby with flowers in recognition of her many years of service to the organization. Two new board members were also elected and are Bill Bennett owner of the local Subway and Cowlick’s Ice cream and Bill Morrison coastal district manager for Soper-Wheeler CO. LLC. Also elected to another 1 year term as student representative was Kayla Andersen.
Other board members that were not up for election this year are President Shawn Hackley, Vice President Rich Pyorre, Secretary John Andersen, Treasurer Joe Sutphin and board members Mike Galliani, Brad Gardner and Shirley Johnson. Madeleine Melo will also remain as a board member as immediate past president. Discussion on the progress of the stadium was discussed and the next pressing issue is getting the sprinkler heads on the field brought back to complete working order so the field will be ready for the upcoming season.
Regular monthly meetings are held at 7:00PM on the 3rd Wednesday of each month normally in room F109 at the high school. The public is always welcome to attend meetings. The next meeting will be July 15 in room F109.
